Redskins rookie mini-camp slated for take-off on Friday, May 4th.

Griffin at the draft

By Mark Pierce

In addition to the nine players they selected in the draft, the Redskins also signed 12 undrafted free agents this weekend. Newly signed players will line up along with other try-outs at the Redskins rookie mini-camp beginning on May 4th. The new additions bring the Redskins total number of players to 88, 2 under the off-season limit of 90.

Notable players on the undrafted list include Grant Garne, a center from Oklaholma State. At 6-3, 305 pounds, Garne was the Big 12 offensive lineman of the year.  Local product Chase Minnifield, a cornerback from Virginia, also made the list.  Minnifield had been considered a mid-round pick, however a required knee arthroscopy caused him to slip from the ranks of drafted players.

About ImproperRedskin

I grew up watching the Redskins with my dad. I feel I've always been a part of Redskins Nation. I'm so excited about the direction the team is taking now. I feel somewhat exiled in terms of the skins living in Boston, even though I know there are other fans here. That's pretty much why I started doing this, to touch base with other Redskins fans across the country. There's always something to talk about with the Redskins, isn't there? I want to hear your voice.
