The Monday injury report was grim for the Redskins as the team lost two key defensive players to season-ending injury. Outside linebacker Brian Orakpo will require surgery to repair his torn left pectoral muscle, while teammate Adam Carriker will undergo the knife to repair a torn Quadriceps tendon. Both players were injured in Sunday’s matchup against St. Louis, and are expected to miss the remainder of the 2012 season.
Devastating news for the defense, however, the Redskins are deepest and strongest on the defensive front, so the replacements here, in year three of the Shanahan regime, are fairly reliable.
