Does Cousins impressive performance mean he’ll eventually be traded?

It’s not the number one story at this point, but it’s certainly one you’ll hear debated in the off season.  Kirk Cousins had an excellent showing against the Cleveland Browns yesterday, and many Redskin observers are wondering if the tape from yesterday’s game will be enough to land Kirk Cousins a spot as the starting QB on another NFL squad next season.

If last season is a reliable basis for comparison, he just might. Remember Matt Flynn? Even though Russell Wilson ended up as the starter in Seattle, Flynn was paid big bucks for the move from Green Bay to Seattle, mostly based on the game tape from two games. Kevin Kolb was traded to Arizona under similar circumstances.

Redskins fans are painfully aware of what it is like to have to play without a true NFL starting quarterback. They know how the fans in Jacksonville and other NFL towns bereft  of quarterbacks feel. Could needs at other positions, notably offensive line and defensive secondary trump the need to keep a solid backup in the fold? Talk amongst yourselves.

About ImproperRedskin

I grew up watching the Redskins with my dad. I feel I've always been a part of Redskins Nation. I'm so excited about the direction the team is taking now. I feel somewhat exiled in terms of the skins living in Boston, even though I know there are other fans here. That's pretty much why I started doing this, to touch base with other Redskins fans across the country. There's always something to talk about with the Redskins, isn't there? I want to hear your voice.
